FAQs
What does the upfront cost include?
The upfront cost includes the purchase of your share and any transportation, vet and commission fees from the sales. It also includes any training/keep fees up until the monthly fees begin.
What does the monthly fee include?
The monthly fee includes the following: all training expenses, veterinary treatment, jockey riding fees, entry fees, living costs, transportation to and from the racecourse and owners badges.
Owners Badges
Owners who have purchased a share are entitled to an owners and trainers badge every time their horse is running. When your horse is declared, we will ask who would like to attend and arrange this for you..
Insurance
When purchasing your share, it is not insured. If you wish to organise insurance for your share, you may do so. Alternatively if you would like us to look into this for you, please contact us.
Visiting Stables
We encourage owners to visit stables as and when they would like to. Visiting stables gives owners great insight into how their horse is at home and allows owners to meet their trainers. If you would like to visit the stables, please contact us and we can arrange this for you.
Prize / Sales money
Any prize money will be paid as a lump sum at the end of the flat season. An owners statement will be prepared annually summarising the account. Owners will then receive their % share of prize money. In the case of any sale proceeds, we will aim to settle accounts as soon as we receive the funds with each shareholder getting their % share. This can however take up to several weeks.
Can I sell my share?
If you wish to sell your share, your can do at any point. We would just require the details of the new shareholder you’d be selling to. We may be in a position to buy your share back.
Ending Ownership
After the initial 12 month contract period is up, you are free to end your ownership. We require a 4 week notice period.
Race Planning
The syndicate managers work closely with trainers to manage the race planning for your horse. We welcome input from all syndicate members and we will always be available for discussions.
Payment Options
Upfront payments are to be made by direct bank transfer. Monthly fees are to be paid on the 1st of each month by direct debit. If you wish to pay everything upfront, please contact us and we can arrange this for you.
Other costs
Race entries which cost over £50 and racing outside of the UK (entries and transportation) are not covered by the monthly fees. This cost would be taken out of any prize money earned by your horse. If there was no prize money earned, we would cover all costs.
Communication
You will be given the option upon the purchase of your share as to how you would like to receive communications. This will include regular updates on your horse, any entries/declarations made and pre/post race thoughts along with paddock/jockey videos.
